Ensure your company's foothold in a market outside the European Union within an incubator or by opening an individual or collective commercial representative office.
Within this envelope, the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency proposes 3 types of commercial representation:
- the individual commercial representative office
- the collective commercial representative office
- the incubator
The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency contributes to the opening of 2 separate installations outside the EU for a maximum of 3 years.
Commercial representative support is de minimis aid within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013.
Any Walloon business that is a manufacturer or service provider, developing an international project with added value for the Walloon economy. The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency appreciates the realistic character of this added value.
A business is an entity, irrespective of its legal form, engaged in an economic activity, given that, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013, all entities which are controlled by the same entity are considered as a single undertaking.
The "collective commercial representative office" is reserved for SMEs within the European meaning of the term
Terms of the contribution
The individual commercial representative office:
The subsidy from the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency covers 50% of the costs of opening and operating the representative office for one year (mandatory for 12 consecutive months) incurred by the company, covered in the form of a single flat rate for simplicity
The collective commercial representative office:
This involves a minimum of 3 SMEs, in the European sense of the term, opening a representative office together and sharing the management costs. The subsidy of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency therefore covers 50% of the costs of opening and operating the office for one year (compulsory over 12 consecutive months) covered in the form of a single flat rate. Eligible costs are determined in proportion to the applicant's contribution to the costs in relation to all the companies that use the collective office.
The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency has reached several agreements with foreign bodies to allow Walloon companies to explore new markets using the services they offer locally at a reduced rate in terms of accommodation and support for companies.
In addition to the initial aid, including basic services provided by the incubator, the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency offers Walloon companies a fixed subsidy covering 50% of additional costs for the period of 3 to 12 consecutive months that the company is actually present in the incubator. For 12 consecutive months of occupation in an incubator, the "Individual commercial representative office" amount applies.
The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency can only provide financial support for the opening of 2 representative offices (individual or collective) in different countries outside the EU per 3-year period.
"Commercial representative office" support is de minimis aid within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013.
